The Joint Commission says hospitals are improving

In a report that looked at data collected from 2002 to 2005, The Joint Commission found that hospitals made great strides when dealing with heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia care. Hospitals improved the most by providing smoking cessation advice to patients admitted to the hospital with pneumonia (up from 37% in 2002 to 80% in 2005).
